Kim Tong Hwan was born in 1962. He graduated from the Pyongyang University of Fine Arts in 1980. He was awarded the "Ten Great Influence Artists" top prize at the Tenth Beijing International Art Exposition. He has produced more that 500 works both figure and Landscape paintings and has won many gold medals at national exhibitions. His works is vivid, loud colour with strong stroke. He is a labour Hero and Merited Aritst.
